STORY
Shepard attributes the core essence of the Shepard Estates brand to growing up surrounded by people who showed you that with love, determination and community you can overcome any obstacle and build the life of your dreams.
From Sugar Hill to the rolling hills of Paso Robles, Brandon Shepard’s journey to wine is one that has been rooted in perseverance and strength.
He grew up visiting his grandfather’s home in the iconic West Adams Sugar Hill community. Having been members of this community since the 1950s, the home remained infused with a rich history of love, resilience and culture that once defined it as an iconic and revolutionary staple in Los Angeles.

Fast forward to present day, Shepard is a Cal Poly football alum who was once well on his way to a career in Physical Therapy, when a part-time job at a cigar lounge gave him his first taste of a world that would quickly have him hopelessly entranced.
After 15 years in the wine industry, having worked his way up the ranks and developed the crown jewel of one of the most notable wineries in the Paso Robles region, he couldn't help but notice the resounding lack of diversity and accessibility throughout the industry. Simply put - he wanted to find a way for more people to experience the joys of wine that had transformed his life.

Further inspired by the instrumental women in his life, Shepard Estates was born to not only produce exquisite handcrafted wines, but to also create a welcoming space that inspires others - building a community of individuals with a shared love of creative expression who fuel and further a culture of empowerment.
The Estates’ inaugural wines - The Shepard Collection - were dreamt up with three people in mind: the lovers, dreamers and rebels, and exist to defy traditions and greatly disrupt the expectation of what wine should be.
